Challenges
The AMIC Polska project required a deep understanding of a complex business domain and the ability to design a solution that met strict industry standards. The key objective was to align payment process analysis with the client’s existing systems and design a scalable architecture that could operate across a decentralized network of fuel stations.
- Complexity of the fuel industry domain
Processing transactions at gas stations involves numerous variables: fuel types, promotions, fleet discounts, transaction limits, and integration with mobile or fleet apps.
- Diversity and fragmentation of IT systems
Fuel stations operate with multiple independent systems handling payments from various sources. The lack of centralized logic made it difficult to propose a unified solution.
- Compliance with global industry standards
The system needed to meet strict standards in terms of security, communication, and interoperability – both with AMIC’s internal systems and external technology providers.
Solution
We conducted a thorough business and technical analysis of AMIC’s cashless payment environment. Based on our findings, we designed a complete system architecture – including business logic, integration points, and planned support for future customer-facing channels such as mobile apps and fleet integrations.
Outcomes:
- Complete documentation of business and functional requirements
- System architecture aligned with industry standards
- Clear definition of all components and their interactions
- Ready-to-develop solution for the client’s internal dev team
- Shared understanding between IT and business stakeholders
- Identified risks and integration points with external providers
Client’s review
“Our goal was to devise a payment solution that not only enhances convenience for our customers but also improves operational efficiency within our organization. Prognetics played a crucial role, providing a blend of business and technical analyses to dissect our existing payment landscape.”

Results
Months were enough to complete the analysis, system design, and delivery of implementation-ready documentation.
Hours spent by our two-person team on analysis, consulting, and documentation preparation.
Complete system architecture covering components, entry points, and data exchange interfaces.
Compliance with global tech standards in the fuel sector.
How did we achieve this?
Validation with the client
We compared our findings with AMIC’s internal knowledge and expectations to ensure the proposed solution matched real-world operational needs.
Final documentation
We delivered a complete, implementation-ready package – including business goals, use cases, component interactions, boundary conditions, and integration flows, fully aligned with fuel industry standards.
Business analysis
Our analyst mapped out all payment processes and gathered requirements from across AMIC’s operations – from retail to fleet systems.
Validation with the client
We compared our findings with AMIC’s internal knowledge and expectations to ensure the proposed solution matched real-world operational needs.
Architecture design
Architecture design
Based on the confirmed scope, our systems architect created a full architecture diagram defining components, data flows, and external dependencies.
Final documentation
We delivered a complete, implementation-ready package – including business goals, use cases, component interactions, boundary conditions, and integration flows, fully aligned with fuel industry standards.
