ESRM is a system consisting of two applications: an internal core system and a public online register. Our task was to take over and maintain the system together with its server infrastructure, ensure SLA, and guarantee full continuity of this critical solution.

Challenges

  • Tight migration window

The migration had to be completed within a very short timeframe, covering server setup, system deployment, and DNS coordination to ensure uninterrupted ESRM operations.

  • Incomplete documentation

Although the system came with extensive documentation, it did not cover all components. We had to identify and understand the missing elements ourselves to properly take over and launch the system.

  • Client without a technical background

The lack of technical expertise on the client’s side initially caused communication difficulties and distrust toward proposed solutions. To simplify cooperation, we provided a dedicated platform for reporting issues.

Solution

Based on the available documentation and materials, we prepared an initial concept of the system configuration. We then ran a test deployment on copies of virtual machines, gradually resolving undocumented errors.

Finally, we verified correct operation, performed performance testing, and conducted security testing (including ZAP). This allowed us to rebuild and launch the system in our infrastructure in a fully operational form.
